Are you ready to grow your optimism with a Positivity Challenge?

Do you seek a positive challenge in your life?  Would you like to change your mindset? Are you somebody who looks for the good in things?  I think everybody struggles with positivity.  How do I know this?  Because I struggle with positivity too! Even if you are a Shirley Temple twin, there’s still probably room for improvement for you to be more positive.  So let’s jump on board this 30 day positivity challenge, shall we?

You already know that we have the ability to choose happiness. Yes friends, positivity is a choice! I’ve written before about changing the channel when you find yourself going down a negative path.  Just like changing the channel on TV if you don’t like what you’re watching, you can do the same with your mind.

Change the channel!

Your brain works like that!  You have the choice to reprogram it. You may have heard, that there are two things you are in total control of in your life, your attitude and your effort. I figure that if my attitude is bad, then I have the ability to change that.

I don’t know about you, but the more I turn on the TV or watch the news, the more I realize what a negative world we live in.  Hatred is slammed left and right. Negativity is everywhere! Is that okay with you? It’s really not okay with me. My solution is to not watch the news because it really saddens me.  It’s not just the news, though.

We’re surrounded by friends and family who are down and depressed, always having something negative to say. As we go through life, we see hurt and sadness everywhere.  But again, positivity is a choice!  Stop letting people who do so little for you, control so much of your mind, feelings, and emotions. Social media is also a perfect location to find negativity. It’s easy to get sucked in. However, if you stay positive in a negative situation, you win!Break the negativity cycle and take this 30 day positivity challenge. With 1 positivity reminder per day, you'll be on your way to a happier, more positive life. #ThinkPositive Share on X

You may have heard the quote that says, Every day may not be good, but there’s good in every day.  As a self-proclaimed optimist, I always seek to look at the good in things. My optimism in regards to the news is that our wonderful Jesus will be coming soon to take us home with Him.

I tend to get frustrated with people who are negative.  For those folks, optimism doesn’t seem to help. I just have to turn away.  I am so thankful to have found a great group of friends who are positive and optimistic.  I think it’s important to surround yourself with positivity.

You might be wondering, why do I need a positivity challenge?

For starters, you will be a lot more pleasant to be around.  Nobody likes a Negative Nelly or a Debbie Downer. A negative attitude causes stress which causes a boatload of other issues.  Thinking negatively about tasks or projects prevents us from moving forward and causes procrastination.

Have you heard of the Law of Attraction?

Basically, you get what you think about. If I believe I’m going to fail at something, I’m going to. If I believe I’m going to be successful, then guess what?  I’m going to succeed. Not only that, I’ll work that much harder to make that happen. It reminds me of the famous quote by Yoda from Star Wars, “Do or do not, there is no try”. So obviously, what kind of result would you rather have? My friends, positivity is a choice.

So let’s talk about ways that you can bring more positivity into your life.  I’m going to challenge you to do one task each day so that you can be the positive person that we all want to be around.  So take a look at these positivity reminders and let them give you the boost you need to explode your optimism.

30 Days to be Positive Challenge

Day 1: Pray

It shouldn’t surprise you that prayer is the first thing on this list of positivity reminders.  Pray first thing every morning.  Thank God for all of your blessings. Name them, one by one.  But don’t start after day 1.  This is a daily task, actually they all are.  So start and end each day with prayer.

Day 2:  Think Positive

Start each day with a positive thought.  Think about something that you’re looking forward to for the day. Take a look at this video, to really understand how to be happy and make a positivity pledge every single day. It’s made by the 10-10 Movement which, according to their YouTube channel was established to help you live your life at a 10 out of 10 as much as possible.

Day 3: Gratitude

Write down 3 things you’re grateful for today.  If you need ideas, check Gratitude from A to Z: Things to be thankful for and Gratitude Lists: Not Just the Latest Greatest Fad. Do you need a gratitude journal to remind you of all of your blessings?  I like this one and this one.

Day 4: Smile

Smile at someone today, maybe even say Hello!  Open the door for them or buy them a coffee.  What a great way to spread your positivity.

Day 5: Follow through

Follow through in something you told yourself you would do today, whether it is exercise, call a friend or a business task.

Day 6: Make a list

Make a list of 5 things that make you happy. If you are up for another challenge, why not a happiness challenge?

Day 7:  Dance

Turn on some music and dance.  Extra positive challenge points if you dance with your hubby or kids so they’ll smile too.

Day 11: Find a positive quote

Choose a positive quote or scripture, print it out and tape it somewhere you see often.  Review my 25 encouraging quotes that will motivate you.

Day 12: Watch something light on TV

Watch your favorite “feel-good” movie.   Hulu and ROKU have some great movies and sitcoms.. We were able to cut the cable cord and save a bunch of money by switching to ROKU, which has a great variety of shows, including shows from our younger years. Hulu adds some additional programming.

Day 13: Play with puppies

Go to the humane society and play with the puppies.  Who can be grumpy around puppies? Bonus points if you bring one home. Or…start with this video on YouTube. Then watch another, and another, and another.???

Day 14: Bake

What is a 30 day positivity challenge without baking? Bake cookies for yourself or for a friend.  Likewise, enjoy a nice visit when you deliver them.

Day 15: Reflect on your wins

Make a list of your accomplishments.  Make sure to refer back to them when you’re feeling discouraged in the future.  This pretty journal is perfect for not only reflecting your wins, but it’s great for any of your journaling needs.

Day 16: Flowers

Buy yourself some flowers.  What a beautiful gift to yourself!  While you’re at it, pick up some for a friend who could really use some cheering up.  These days you can even do your flower shopping from home!

Day 17: Vision Board

Create a vision board.  This is a visual board of your goals, hopes, and dreams. Learn how to create an empowering vision board here.

Day 18:  Bubbles and Books

Take a bubble bath and read a good book.  Use your favorite scented bubble bath. Ask hubby to watch the kiddos and give you a break.

Day 19: Grow stuff

Plant a seed indoors and watch it grow.  My daughter recently planted a seed and is growing a pine tree in a cup. She loves to baby it.  Should I mention that she’s in her 20’s? I’ve taken a liking to growing and propagating cacti, (cactus x 2.)

Day 20: Yummy Treats

Treat yourself to a coffee, ice cream or lunch.  Who says eating out alone can’t be a great time. Enjoy your own company and make treating yourself a part of your positivity pledge.

Day 21:  Forgive

Forgive someone.  Forgiveness weighs us down immensely, because Jesus forgives, so can you.

Day 22:  Snapchat and TikTok

Play with the funny faces on Snapchat and send a snap to someone special.  You can giggle endlessly with those pictures. TikTok can also leave you distracted for hours. Be careful, though. It’s easy to procrastinate from what’s important on those two apps. Here’s a great positivity reminder…the key is moderation.

Day 23: No Complaints

Go the entire day without complaining.  Bless yourself and those around you.

Day 24: No Social Media

Take the day off from social media.  No electronics! Connect face to face with your loved ones. Maybe you should make this Day 23 since you wasted away Day 22 on Snapchat and TikTok.
