Have you ever wondered what the most popular Bible verses KJV are? The thought came up because my favorite verse has always been Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV. And it seems like when people struggle with problems in their lives they use that verse for comfort like I do.
So I recently asked some Christian blogger friends, what is their favorite Bible verse and why? I have compiled their favorites. Therefore, I bring you our most popular Bible verses. I personally only use the King James Version (KJV), so this list will all include that version.
I have broken up these verses into different categories. Many have to do with the comfort that the Lord provides. Other popular topics help us to learn How to Grow in Faith and trust God even more than we do. All of these popular Bible verses KJV are promises from God to us. I love that comfort and personally, it increases my faith.
Most common themes? According to Bible Study Tools the most common themes for popular Bible verses KJV are finding strength, growing in faith, and trusting in God.
Most popular Bible verses KJV about growing in faith
As a Christian, growing in faith is a lifelong journey. Sometimes our faith is strong and sometimes it waivers. But if we continue to seek the Lord, we will keep that relationship strong and our faith will be renewed day by day. For me, I’ll tell you why these next scriptures are my three most commonly used verses.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.” This is my go-to verse for anytime I’m hurt, afraid or struggling with something. I cannot tell you how often that others remind me of this verse when I ask for prayer requests.
Roman’s 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” It doesn’t matter what type of trial we are going through. This verse always reminds me that my struggle is for my own good and will bring honor and glory to God.
Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, And shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” This is my favorite verse explaining how to be saved. You must believe in your heart, but it’s also necessary to confess your sins, repent of them and ask for salvation.
Most popular Bible verses about trusting God
There is no faith without trust in God. We have to believe that He is who He says He is. The following scriptures tell us who Jesus is. He is the Word in physical form. I believe without a shadow of a doubt that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all One. Honestly, I don’t understand it, but I don’t have to. I just need to believe and trust. John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” If you want to take a closer look, at what “be still, and know that I am God” means visit Be Still and Know.
Psalm 27:8 “When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.”
1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Most popular Bible verses KJV about God’s goals for us
God has a plan for each of our lives. Our goal is to live according to His will. What is that will? To follow what He lays out in our rulebook. The Holy Bible is our instructions for righteousness. You cannot take bits and pieces of the Bible. You have to take it all. All of our goals are wrapped up into two commandments. Love God, and love everybody else. Everything we do in this life goes back to that.
James 1:22 “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Most popular Bible verses about finding strength
We can get strength every day for the things that we need from the Lord. He is strong. He is mighty. Our God is omnipotent and omniscient. Omnipotent means that He is able to do anything and has unlimited power. Omniscient means all knowing. You can’t keep secrets from God. He sees everything.
Psalm 86:15-17 “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 17:14 “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.”
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
Most popular Bible verses KJV about grace and mercy
Grace means that God blesses us, even though we don’t deserve it. Grace is also known as unmerited favor. Mercy, on the other hand, is God holding back punishment that we deserve for the sins that we’ve committed. How wonderful is He? Our Heavenly Father is filled with a whole lot of grace and mercy. Praise His Holy Name! We have so very much to be thankful for!
1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”
Roman’s 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Deuteronomy 33:27 “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.”
James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Don’t forget! Some great reminders for us!
Ecclesiastes 4:12 “And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
Roman’s 12:18 “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
Most popular Bible verses KJV about when I am weak, He is strong
We always have a source of strength in our Lord. Oftentimes, we forget that and try and work out our problems ourselves. We carry burdens we shouldn’t and we don’t forgive ourselves and others when we should. His strength is sufficient. How to Get Closer to God Spiritually has some great tips to grow in the Lord.
Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Most popular Bible verses about Freedom in Christ
Do we honestly realize what that freedom has done for us? As a born-again child of the King, we have eternal life forever with Him in Paradise. Most of the time we focus on this sinful world. But this life is only temporary. We have freedom in Christ because of His precious blood that was shed on the cross at Calvary. As horrible as His torture and mulitation was, He went willingly as the sacrifice to pay for the sins of mankind. That is love beyond any that I think we can even comprehend. For that, I am eternally thankful.
Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

Wendy, I love this post! These popular bible verses (KJV) are awesome! I have been going through a season where God has been really stressing the importance of me trusting in Him with my WHOLE heart and NOT leaning on my own understanding of everything in this life. So Proverbs 3:5-6 has been a popular and very well used passage of Scripture for me, too. This post is an awesome resource for us all. ❤❤❤
