There is so much negativity in the world today.  There are doubts and fears and reasons to give up.  We all can come up with probably a dozen reasons why we shouldn’t pursue our goals.  However, there are just as many reasons why we should push on. As I’m writing this, my goal is to inspire and motivate you with some really great encouraging quotes.

Motivate you to do what, you ask?

I aim to motivate you to overcome that obstacle in front of you and push forward. Whether it be an illness, heartache or procrastination, let’s push on. Even if just for today, take one step forward.

I spent seven long years feeling sorry for myself.  I no longer had hands. How could I accomplish anything without hands?  My favorite things were taking care of our family and our home. One day, I could no longer cook or clean, plant my flowers or decorate our home.  That was my job and it was gone. Once I started writing this blog, I found a new way to grow.

One Exceptional Life was born

Since the inception of One Exceptional Life, I started to bloom. This blog and the growth and promotion of it kept me busy. Boy oh boy, have I been busy!  It’s been incredible. Now I’m thriving! If you’re stuck, I recommend you start something new. Start writing.  Write down your story, things you’re thankful for, write scripture. Write anything.

I should address the elephant in the room, right?  Wendy, you don’t have hands. How do you do all this writing? Refer to my blog post Look Ma, No Hands where I showed you my stylus, which is actually how my whole business is run, with my stylus strapped to one arm and my cell phone strapped to the other.

  1. This is such a great idea, Wendy! I always second guess myself when I look at quotes and feel like I want to draw from them. Because ultimately we should be drawing our motivation from scripture. But what you’ve done here is perfect. It’s balanced with both the word of God and inspirational words from others. Job well done!

    1. Thanks so much, Stacey. I believe as long as we back everything up with the Word of God, we can get our direction from different sources, including quotes.

  2. Thank you so much for these motivational quotes. Much needed today! I recently heard a quote in a podcast that I loved so much – Everything will be alright at the end. If it is not alright now, then it is not the end.

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly. This is what I need to remind myself during hard times. Thanks again for the reminder 🙂

  3. I’m grabbing this one today: “The fact that you aren’t where you want to be should be enough motivation”! It definitely reflects my outlook at the moment!

  4. OH wow.. I do feel my spirit lifted! I am pretty motivated right now, but it’s more of a negative energy – working is my outlet for my worry.

Better to be inspired by the positive.

    Thank you Wendy!

  5. This is a great list. My favorites are “just when the caterpillar thought life was over, it became a butterfly” and “without God, all things would be impossible.” I know they are exact, but that is how I think of them. I just think of so many times of struggle where I emerged happier and more blessed than I could have seen during the midst of it.

    1. Thank you, Carly! I agree. There’s that saying that “we can’t always see the forest through the trees”. It’s harder to count your blessings while you’re going through the trial. But I believe if we stop and do just that, the struggle will be easier.
